This will be at the Wakarusa Public Library… “Mission Accepted”
Students will be split into teams and will need to engineer a lander that can keep two “alien” marshmallows inside a cup when dropped. Students learn about shock-absorption and stability, and then using items such as straws, index cards, and mini marshmallows, they build their lander. All day activities for all ages! Join us in the Children’s area as we kick off Summer Reading. Come explore household items that can be used for building castles, towers and more. Crafts and activities will also be available to make and take. These crafts take approximately 10-15 minutes to complete. Make one or several. It’s up to you. [There will be limited number of each craft.]
Choose a favorite recipe made on the grill to swap with other participants. Bring your hand written/typed/copied recipe the night of the program and return home with several new ones to try. Refreshments will be provided the night of the program; only written recipes should be brought in to share (no food items please). This program is geared toward adults (grade 9 and older) and registration is required for the event.
Family Programming – Registration is required, and all ages are welcome to attend. An adult caregiver or parent must accompany each registered family.
