It’s that time of year! Christmas is almost here…wouldn’t it be nice to have a new ornament for your tree? How about learning how to make a keepsake heirloom that can be passed on to future generations? Join us on Thursday, December 1 at 6:30 p.m. for an evening filled with Christmas fun! Each participant will leave the workshop with one created ornament and ideas for others to create on their own. Materials will be supplied; pre-registration is required to attend this event. Children age 10 and older must be accompanied by an adult.
Children will hear a story or 2, including “Charlie Needs a Cloak” by Tomie dePaola, and participate in either a craft or activity related to the stories. No registration is required.
Join us as we celebrate Indiana’s 200th birthday. Enjoy some refreshments, test your knowledge of Hoosier trivia, create a Hoosier birthday hat, and enter one of the drawings. Our drawings will be for a movie, books, and music that all have Indiana connections. The birthday party will take place in the library’s Meeting Room from 1 – 8 p.m.
Participants will be asked to read books from one of the nominee lists so that they are eligible to vote in April 2017 for their favorite. At this meeting, “Building Our House” by Jonathan Bean and “With Books and Bricks” by Suzanne Slade will be highlighted and attendees will do a craft or activity.
Join us for an evening full of holiday cheer! Have your family photo taken and create a frame to preserve the memory, welcome our Elf on the Shelf ‘Dewey’, and don’t miss Michiana’s very own, ‘The Roz Puppets’ as they present a holiday puppet show sure to entertain even the biggest of kids!
